A Warm Blanket : Parents

I am very new at the CHD experience. My unborn daughter was diagnosed 3 weeks ago.  My "warm blanket" came from our cardiologist during our first visit. As he described what he saw in the echocardiogram and explained all that was involved with reconstruction, he used our daughter's name.  We felt comforted by his choice of words and the inclusion of Anna during this very scary time.  He really values her as a person and we trust him completely.  It seems like a small thing perhaps, but to us it meant the world!

Our journey is just beginning... I'm looking for all the "warm blankets" I can find.

Our hospital provided all the children in the ICU with handmade, quilts, just the right size for the "humidicribs" they were in. A nurse's mother belonged to a sewing circle, and they all donated their remnant materials and their time to making a batch of these blankets each week..

The nurses all signed the back with the details of our daughterÕs surgery, and it will always be a very warm blanket for her.
