Memorial Garden

The Memorial Garden was created to honor our "brave warriors" who are no longer with us. We wish to thank their parents for sharing the stories of their precious children, and making them a part of our lives. We hope that you will find comfort in knowing that these beloved children will always be remembered, and will live in our hearts forever.

    Paul Mullin

    3/7/90-10/04/02

My son, Paul, was born with a hypoplastic right ventricle.  When he was 3 mos. old he had a Blalock shunt and a modified Fontan at 2 years old.  For the past 10 years he led a healthy life.  The only medication he took was a tablet of baby aspirin.  He was active like any other normal boy.  He would always breathe heavy when he was running or playing hard with the other kids.  He never let that stop him.  He was able to play baseball.

In July of 2002 he developed cardiomyopathy.  After it was determined that neither medications nor surgery were going to help, he was placed on the heart transplant list.  He spent 6 weeks in the hospital waiting for a heart.  He was still active while in the hospital roaming about to the other floors and visiting new friends.  But his condition continued to deteriorate.

The community pulled together to stand beside Paul and my family.  He became an inspiration to many people in our community.  We all prayed that he would get a new heart.  That day never came.  Paul passed away on October 4, 2002, his brother's birthday.  Paul was a bit of comedian and I remember the funny comments he would say and that get me through each day.  He now has the chance to finally meet his grandfather whom he was named after.  I cherish the day I am reunited with my son and his grandfather.

Paul's Mom forever

                 Michael Antonio Garcia

8/14/03 - 8/27/03

Our precious son was born on August 14, 2003.  When he was a few hours old we found out that he had Transposition of the Great Arteries.  He had the arterial switch operation when he was seven days old, but his heart was never able to recover after the surgery.  He passed away when he was 13 days old.

Michael gave us the greatest gift ...love.  He will live on in our hearts and dreams forever.

Until we meet again my sweet prince!
