Addison Marie

Tetralogy of Fallot

Addison Marie
Addison Marie
We found out that our daughter had TOF in utero. We were monitored throughout the pregnancy. When she was born, she was taken to the NICU for observation and testing. The cardiologist cleared her, and within a couple of hours she was able to bond with us.

At 5 days old, we were readmitted to the hospital due to jaundice and severe nasal congestion. It was at the hospital that she had her first tet spell. She had 2 nasal cysts removed and was transferred to the NICU for observation. Addison was places on oxygen for several days because her oxygen levels were so low.

At three weeks of age, the cardiologist recommended that Addison start propranolol to help with the blood flow to her lungs and scheduled for us to meet with the surgeon for a B-T shunt. At this time, the surgery has been postponed to see if we can give Addison more time to gain weight just with using the propranolol .
