Leilla

Severe Aortic Stenosis, Coarctation of Aorta, VSD, Balloon Dilation, future Ross-Konno procedure

Leilla
Leilla
Leilla was born Sept.4, 2007. We did not know she had a CHD until she was 6 weeks old. She went in for a routine checkup when the pediatrician heard a heart murmur. We were then referred to a cardiologist where they confirmed our worst fear: she has severe aortic stenosis, coarctation of the aorta, and a VSD.

On November 30 we rushed her to the ER in critical congestive heart failure. We stayed in the hospital for 8 days, until they finally did a balloon dilation. Since then, on January 8 we took her back to the hospital where she tested positive for RSV and pneumonia. We had another one-week stay. Now we are waiting for her second balloon dilation in February, stalling for the Ross-Konno procedure.

Our precious baby is a fighter. She is failure to thrive and has acquired anemia in addition to her heart conditions.

— Jaimie, Leilla's mother (Southern California)
