Maribeth

My name is Maribeth. I am almost 21 years of age and was diagnosed with HLHS 2 days after I was born. My parents were left without any hope/options and the doctors gave me about a week to live. A few days later, my aunt found some information on Dr. Norwood and his experimental procedure on babies with HLHS. I had both operations done at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia by Dr. Norwood himself.

I am currently a junior at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX. I am studying Family/Child Development in hopes to become a Child Life Specialist. I am the oldest of 4 children. I have a brother who is 19 and a freshman at Texas A&M University, a sister who is 18, a senior in high school and another sister who is 16, a sophomore in high school. My family lives in Dallas, TX which is where I was born and raised.
