Matt
 My name is Matt and I am 11 years old. I am in junior high in the 6th grade. I have congenital heart defects and it is called "complex heart" because there are many different defects. It is tough to have CHD. I have had many caths and surgeries, and my heart works with the help of 2 mechanical heart valves. I have to take Coumadin so I will not get clots in them. I hate the blood tests I need, but I use Emla cream and it numbs my hand. I need the tests so the doctors will know that my blood won’t clot.
I can’t do some of the things I used to do. I cannot be on the basketball team because it can be dangerous for me. I cannot compete in Karate classes, so I don’t go anymore. The doctors say, "no competitive sports". I do rollerblade, skateboard, and ride my bike as long as I wear protective gear.
I like to listen to music. I like all kinds. Some of the music I like is by Puff Daddy, N Sync, Backstreet Boys, even Garth Brooks. I watch TV a lot, and my favorite movie is Terminator 2 with Arnold Shwartzeneggar.
My hobby is Star Wars collectibles. My room is Star Wars and wrestling. I cheer for the Dallas Cowboys and I like the Bulls. I love wrestling. WCW is my favorite company. Goldberg and Sting are my favorites.
On August 17th at Monday Nitro in Hartford, I was backstage with all of WCW, because one of my mom’s online heart friends got in touch with Goldberg’s brother, and they asked him to meet me. It was real cool! Goldberg took me in the back, I saw his dressing room, met all of the wrestlers, and they autographed a magazine Goldberg gave me. He took pictures of me with Sting, Van Hammer, Ray Mysterio, Buff, 2 Nitro girls, and one with DDP. I also met the 2 biggest wrestlers, Giant and Kevin Nash. It was the best night of my life! 
I got my picture taken with Goldberg, and it will be in the January, 1999 issue of Pro Wrestling Illustrated. The New York Daily News wrote a story about Goldberg, and I was in it too. There was a picture of me, my brother Mike, and sister Fran. My mom hid. My dad was at the other end of the front row that Goldberg got for us.
I would like to say thank you because my mom told me how you started C.H.I.N. because your son has CHD. She has lots of friends now with kids like me. It helps her. It helps me.
