A little bit about Sarah: June 10, 2002

July 2002 - Sarah is 3 1/2 months old

At Sick Kids in Toronto, after Heart Surgery

My Little Pumpkin

Sarah was born on a beautiful Friday evening on April 19, 2002. She was a sweet little thing with lots of hair. We found out very soon after she was born that there was something wrong with her heart. The doctor was sure she has AVSD and asked to send her to McMaster NICU to be tested further. She spent 10 days in NICU before she came home to be with us.

— Lisa and Steven, Sarah's Parents (Ontario, Canada)

Sarah passed away on November 6, 2002.

  • Treatment:  On September 16, 2002, Sarah underwent her first AVSD Repair. Two days later, they found out that her patch was coming away and they went in again to fix it.
