Tyler James

Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia


Tyler was diagnosed at 2 months old with Tetralogy of Fallot with complete pulmonary atresia and aorta/pulmonary and bronchial collaterals. Tyler has undergone 4 heart surgeries and 7 heart caths to date.

At 2 months old Tyler had an unifocalization and central shunt placed. At 13 months Tyler had a right sided B-T shunt placed, at 3 years of age Tyler had his central shunt taken down and a non-valved right ventricle to pulmonary artery confluence placed, and at 4 years of age Tyler had his B-T shunt taken down and his non-valved conduit replaced with a porcine valved conduit, VSD closed, and a left artery patchaplasty.

Tyler also has 4 right pulmonary artery stents and 1 left pulmonary artery stent. All of his 4 heart surgeries were performed by Dr. Puga at Mayo Medical Clinic and 6 caths. His last cath was performed by Dr. Lock at Children's Hospital of Boston.
