Veronica Leigh

Double-Outlet Right Ventricle

Veronica

Veronica was born in 1994 with a congenital heart defect that made her 3-1/2 years on Earth challenged, but by no means spent as a sick little child.

She lived her days laughing, running and playing like the spirited children we have in our lives today. The only difference is that her heart caused the need for more hospital stays and operations than most of us will ever know in a lifetime.

In the end, it wasn't her heart that gave up, it was the multiple attempts to solve a problem incurred as a result of a heart operation that took her from us.

The pain we felt after she was gone was something we can't express in words and nothing we would ever wish on anyone, however after years of not having her smile in our home, we have begun to feel it more and more in our hearts.

Our children born after her passing, Logan and Nerys, look much like Nica and know their sister not only when they look in a mirror, but through the wonderful memories of her life as a sweet little girl we came to know and love.
